Hernesaaren Ranta (Hernesaari Beach), an amazing outdoor seaside area, had its opening in the spring of 2015. With numerous food vendors, boat docks, sunbathing and terrace facilities, it welcomes all people throughout the summer from day till night.
We were assigned to design a comprehensive branding solution for the entire area combined with a multi-channel marketing strategy for pre-launch, launch and follow up during the season 2015.
Hernesaari combines industrial city milieu with seaside surroundings. The elements of the visual identity have been used to emphasize this confluence. Based on the area’s distinctive plank paneling we created a marine style stripe grid that also works as a binding element of the identity.
The logo design was inspired by Art Deco and neon tubes and the overall typography together with the icons, stripes and bright colors creates a timeless 1920’s beach romance atmosphere. To further strengthen the marine feel we created a yacht club style monogram.
