Definitely one of the biggest DIY innovations in 80's according to folks was start to skip TV ads in home recorded VHS movies. Me, as a 5 years old kid, saw totally different kind of possibilities there. Possibility to watch spots over and over again. My highlight was there; those seconds in the middle of the movie. I loved TV ads and 'to be continue' theme tunes. But majority won and i usually saw the seconds flashing infront of my eyes fast forward.
Luckily, later in my life i have got an great opportunity to fill the haunting emptiness from my past and gather annually with my kindreds to watch best advertising in the world. In a movie theather! And watch them several hours in a row!
Yesterday, it wasn't time to Film Lions yet, but to inspire myself i took a look to other gategory winners in Cannes Lions exhibition at Sanomatalo. The exhibition is open till 25th of September. I highly recommend.
